About us

Matt & Georgie purchased Piccadilly Spring Farm about 14 years ago  to move the family to the country from the suburbs. Bitten by the truffle bug whilst travelling in Alba, Italy in 2004 they returned to plan and execute their own trufferie. They commenced the huge job of improving the soil, preparing irrigation and planting over 650 inoculated trees ( a mixture of hazelnut, English Oak and Holmoak) in 2013. Harvesting their first commercial crop 5 years later in 2018. Their commitment to organic farming principles and intensive maintenance has seen the trufferie flourish yielding 12 kgs of first grade truffles last year. With the 2023 season starting with bang.

Quercus Truffles is managed by Matt’s sister Emma who also oversees the hunts with Riley the Weimeraner, and is in the process of training Rowlf the black Labrador to join the team.
